Bunk beds set up in a home for children returning for family visits

More Than a Bed: Rebuilding a Family, One Room at a Time

Brittany was referred to RISE after securing safe housing and establishing a life separate from the people she had been close to—people who were part of a lifestyle that ultimately resulted in her children being removed from her care and separated into three different foster homes. The children were all ready for overnight visits, but the expense of housing left Brittany without the extra funds needed to furnish the space with the essential items required to make overnight visits with all of the children together possible.

We were able to provide her with bunk beds, twin beds, and all of the mattresses needed. She was so excited to look through our bedding options and find the perfect match for each child’s preferences. Whenever possible, we love not only meeting our clients’ needs, but also sending them home with a few wants as well. We were able to find a couple of board games and dolls to help ease the transition and give the family the opportunity to enjoy game nights together.

To Brittany and her family, those beds and mattresses meant that all of the siblings would once again be able to sleep safely under the same roof.
